AI: An Introduction

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a computer-controlled entity capable of performing cognitive tasks and adapt to a changing environment.

There are, broadly speaking, two types - Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) and Narrow AI.

The primary reason why AI is considered (and rightly) a suitable replacement for human strategizing and decision-making is because AI can be trained to mimic behavioural patterns by learning from experience data.

AI in the Workplace

The trick to implementing AI in the workplace in a cohesive manner lies in viewing it as support, not competition.

According to a recent survey, managers spend more than half their time on administrative tasks, a domain that AI could be easily trained to do much more quickly.

Challenges and Risks of AI

Artificial Intelligence, like any other technology, comes with its own set of risks and challenges.

While some of these are general risks associated with use, certain AI-based challenges are a consequence of situational errors.

Limitations of AI

AI has come leaps and bounds since its inception, but continues to be limited by certain factors in the context of implementation in the field of strategizing.

The subject of AI has always fascinated me. As a student of management, I jumped at the chance to combine both forces together and present the many facets of AI in the workplace, the challenges and risks it presents and the opportunities that lie ahead.

As a rising trend in technological influence in modern business environments, I hope to have encapsulated thoroughly the topic of my research.
